Amount and Terms of Scholarship

Financial support to be used for tuition and required fees only. The JA Scholarship Committee will determine the amount given semi-annually if all criteria are met.

Required Qualifications for Applicants

  • High school graduate or a GED equivalent
  • Resident of Craighead County
  • A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale
  • Financial need

Applications Must Contain All the Following Items to be considered

  • Completed and signed application
  • ACT Score
  • Copy of Applicant’s 7 semester High School transcript or GED Certificate
  • Copy of Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application (for University Applicants)
  • Copy of parent/guardian’s (and/or personal) most current Federal Form 1040
  • Two letters of recommendation outlining qualifications academically or financially: One from a Principal, School Counselor or Teacher and another from a nonrelative adult who has known the applicant in excess of 6 months.
  • Applicant’s most recent W-2 form
  • Photo
  • Financial Release

Criteria for Maintaining Junior Auxiliary Scholarship

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or equivalent
  • Submit official documentation of grades per semester
  • Submit updated application form with updated financial information
  • Submit the above attached with a renewal request letter by June 1st for fall semester or January 1st for spring semester
